PRISON ARRESTS

MALONE — An Alabama woman was charged with promoting prison contraband here July 14, State Police say.

Cari C. Williams, 27, was visiting an inmate at the Franklin Correctional Facility at 62 Bare Hill Road, according to State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman, when she was allegedly found to be in possession of 19 100-milligram morphine sulfate pills.

Williams was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.

She was arraigned in Malone Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $3,500 cash bail or $7,000 bond.

MALONE — A visitor at the Franklin Correctional Facility was charged with promoting prison contraband here July 14, State Police say.

Candace N. Barnett, 30, of Rochester, was charged after being found in possession of 40 suboxone strips while visiting an inmate, Fleishman said.

Barnett was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies.

She was arraigned in Malone Town Court and sent to Franklin County jail with a $2,000 cash bail, $4,000 bond bail set.

MALONE — A Bronx woman was charged after visiting an inmate at the Bare Hill Correctional Facility here July 14, State Police say.

Bethany Veal, 59, was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, when she was found to be in possession of one pill that tested positive for codeine, Fleishman said.

She was arraigned in Malone Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $1,200 cash bail or $2,400 bond.
