Plattsburgh woman charged with two felonies

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh woman was charged with two felonies here Saturday after illegally planting a camera, City Police say.

Barbara J. Drake, 40, was arrested after allegedly unlawfully entering a Montcalm Avenue residence Friday and installing a camera in the resident’s bedroom without his knowledge, according to a City Police press release.

She was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree unlawful surveillance, both felonies, and was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court Oct. 12 before being released on her own recognizance.

According to her Facebook page, Drake is employed as a first grade teacher for the Northeastern Clinton Central School District at Rouses Point Elementary. 

She declined to offer comment.
