Franklin County Board of Elections extends hours
MALONE — The Franklin County Board of Elections office will hold extended hours for those wishing to register to vote or obtain an absentee ballot.
In addition to the office’s regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, it will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 28, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 1.
The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Village of Champlain to flush hydrants
CHAMPLAIN — The Village of Champlain will be flushing hydrants between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 24.
Water users should expect some discoloration and pressure fluctuations when they turn on the tap.
NACS School Board to discuss vets tax break
ELLENBURG – The Northern Adirondack School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, in the District Office conference room with an executive session associated with the performance history of particular employees and collective negotiations.
The board will reconvene for public session at about 7 p.m. to discuss the veterans tax exemption and districtwide growth scores and ratings.
Winter coaching appointments will be made.
The School Board will be recognized for its dedicated leadership and continued service to the children of the district.
