Raffle raising money for scholarship
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Sheriff's Office and the Clinton Community College Criminal Justice Club will team up to raise money for a local scholarship fund and memorial ride.
Raffles tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 25, at the Champlain Centre mall for a chance to win a new 2012 Harley Davidson or $14,000 in cash.
Raffle tickets are $20. Passes to participate in the July 29, 2012, memorial ride can also be purchased for $20.
Proceeds will benefit the Robert Sawicki Careers in Law Enforcement scholarship fund.
Drawing for the raffle will be held July 29, 2012.
Morrisonville water to be fluoridated
SCHUYLER FALLS — The Morrisonville Water District will now have fluoride in its water.

Memory tree to light up for loved ones
BURKE — Burke Ladies Auxiliary invites people to "light a bulb in memory of your loved one."
A donation of $1 each is asked, with proceeds benefiting the auxiliary.
The tree lighting ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Burke Fire Station. Refreshments will be served.

Rouses Point parking ban to start
ROUSES POINT — The Village Office is reminding drivers that the parking ban for vehicles on village streets between 2 and 6 a.m. will be in effect from Dec. 1 to March 31, 2012.
This prohibition is necessary to permit the efficient plowing of streets and to prevent damage to private vehicles during plowing or sanding operations.
Also, residents are asked to make sure that cars parked in driveways do not block the sidewalks.
