South Catherine Street to close
PLATTSBURGH — South Catherine Street in the City of Plattsburgh, from Broad Street to Steltzer Road, will be closed to all south bound traffic, with the exception of emergency vehicles, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. today.
Then, as of Monday, June 17, the street will be closed to all thru traffic from South Platt Street to the Broad Street intersection from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The road construction will continue throughout the week and is expected to be completed by Friday, June 21.
No traffic will be allowed on new asphalt for a minimum of 1 hour.
Make prior arrangements, such as parking on a side street, if you are going to need to leave your driveway during this time period," a city press release said. And check with a flag person prior to walking or crossing the fresh asphalt.
Rainy forecast cancels CVPH Concert on the Lawn
PLATTSBURGH — The CVPH Summer Concert set for today and featuring BBB Bruce, Bill and Bobby on the hospital’s front lawn has been canceled due to inclement weather in the forecast.

Deadline nears for seniors' Cirque du Soleil trip
PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department will host a trip to see the latest Cirque du Soleil production of Alegría in Montreal on Friday, July 5.
Cost is $50 per person, which will include bus transportation and the show's ticket cost. A passport or enhanced license is required.
The bus will leave Champlain Centre mall parking lot, near the former Sears, at 11:30 a.m. and return by 8:30 p.m. Participants will have time to walk the Old Pier and enjoy local fare prior to the show's 4:30 p.m. start.
Preregistration and pre-payment are mandatory before Friday, June 21. Limited space will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis with priority given to Town of Plattsburgh senior citizens and then to any Clinton County senior citizens.
