Death of boy in Keene ruled accidental

KEENE — A Florida boy who was in critical condition after a swimming accident last week has died.

Robert Hamer III was taken off life support over the weekend at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

While swimming with his father on Thursday, the 12-year-old was caught in a rock formation in the Ausable River in Keene, where he was pulled underwater, according to New York State Police.

Dr. Elizabeth A. Bundock, pathologist at Fletcher Allen Health Care, has determined the death is accidental and the cause to be drowning, State Police said Monday.

Westport project to be discussed again

WESTPORT — The Westport Municipal Center Committee will meet at 6 tonight at the Town Hall to discuss the proposed project.

A regular Westport Town Council meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

Both meetings are open to the public.

WILLSBORO — The Willsboro Central School Board's regular board meeting scheduled for today has been canceled.

The next scheduled meeting is on Aug. 10.
