BOCES Board to meet

SARANAC LAKE — The organizational meeting of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of the Sole Supervisory District of Franklin, Essex and Hamilton Counties will be held Thursday, July, 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Petrova Middle School Library in Saranac Lake.

The meeting is open to the public.


Blood Drive Re-located

PLATTSBURGH – The blood drive planned for Monday, July 29 at the Essex County Department of Social Services has been relocated to Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

The drive is open to all eligible donors and will be conducted from noon to 3 p.m.

Blood collected by the Adirondack Regional Blood Center stays in the North Country, helping hundreds of people in this region at hospitals in Elizabethtown, Plattsburgh, Malone, Massena, Saranac Lake and Glens Falls.

Its success rests on the generosity of donors and sponsors.

The Donor Center is located at 85 Plaza Blvd. in Plattsburgh.

Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are always welcome.

To be eligible to donate blood, a person must be in good health and at least 17 years of age. The minimum weight requirement is 110 lbs.

All donors must pass a physical and health history exam conducted at the drive prior to donation. A valid ID is required. Whole blood can be donated once every eight weeks (56 days).

Library Trustees to meet

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Public Library Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 23 at 4:30 p.m. in the Smart Room of the Plattsburgh Public Library, 19 Oak Street.

The meeting is open to the public.


Village Board to meet 

ROUSES POINT — The Village of Rouses Point Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting on July 29 at 4 p.m. in the upstairs conference room to award a bid for a pick-up truck.

The board will also entertain an executive session to discuss the employment of history of a particular employee.

The meeting is open to the public.


Town Trip Planned 

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a trip on Aug. 7 to Burlington, Vt. for a luncheon cruise on the Spirit of Ethan Allen.

The tour will include a buffet lunch and narrated tour on the lake. Afterwards, the group will stop at Dakin Farms in Shelburne.

This day program is open first to any Town of Plattsburgh senior citizen and then to all other county senior citizens if space is available.

The cost for this trip is $40, which includes the fees for the cruise and museum and lunch. The bus will be leaving the Champlain Centre Mall parking lot in front of Hobby Lobby at 9:30 a.m. and return to Plattsburgh by 5:30 p.m.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are mandatory before July 26.
