Rouses Point holding Cleanup Days

ROUSES POINT — The Spring Cleanup Days for the Village of Rouses Point will begin Monday, May 3, and will continue through Thursday, May 6.

Residents are reminded to bag as much material as possible and place it curbside by 7:30 a.m. so parked cars do not block the pickup truck.

Residents are also reminded that this collection is for the pickup of bagged clippings, leaves and bush and tree limbs not to exceed 3 inches in diameter. This will be the last time the village crew will be picking up clippings, leaves and limbs until the fall pickup.

The compost facility will be used for leaves and bagged clippings only.

Deadline nearing for Champlain utility bills

CHAMPLAIN — Village of Champlain residents are being reminded that April 30 is the last day to pay outstanding water and sewer bills.

After that date, any unpaid water and sewer amounts are added to the tax rolls and collected in June when taxes are paid.

Meeting will gauge interest in stamp club

TICONDEROGA — Adults who are philatelists or who collect postage stamps as a hobby are invited to an informational meeting, lunch and discussion at noon Wednesday, April 28.

"Stamp Collecting, the Sport of Kings" is the subject a guest speaker from Westport will present at the lunch at the Old Mill Cafe on Montcalm Street.

Anyone interested is asked to contact Stan Burdick at 585-7015 before the meeting.

If there is sufficient interest, a new stamp club will be formed in the Ticonderoga area.
