CROWN POINT — Thursday, police and other searchers combed Crown Point for Keith Gill, last seen Sunday.

His car, a 1999 BMW, was located on Peasley Road in Crown Point on Monday.

The search for Gill, 45, will resume today.

He was last seen at a cottage on Loon Lake in Chestertown, Warren County, where he was staying with family. State Police Troop G was conducting the investigation into his disappearance.

Gill, who also has ties to Bryn Mawr, Penn., is 6 foot 1 inches tall, weighs 230 pounds and has blond hair and hazel eyes.

A command post was set up Thursday at the Ironville Fire Department in Crown Point, according to New York State Police Troop B Bureau of Criminal Investigation Capt. Robert LaFountain.

The State Police Special Operations Response Team was joined by State Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers, Ticonderoga Town Police, Crown Point Fire Department and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department in the effort.

The search was from the air and under water, as well, with a scuba team, LaFountain said.

“There is a body of water near” where the car was found, he explained.

The circumstances of Gill’s disappearance remained under investigation, the BCI captain said.

Gill is a 1985 graduate of North Warren High School in Chestertown and lived in Brussels, Belgium.
