TICONDEROGA — A fire led to the total loss of a home here Monday.

Fire crews were dispatched out to 85 Cossey St. just after noon, according to Essex County Dispatch.

There was heavy smoke coming out of the home when responders first arrived, according to Ticonderoga Fire Chief Jason Parent.

RESIDENT NOT HOME

Parent believed there to be only one elderly resident living in the home, but they were not in it at the time of the fire. He added that the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to assist the resident.

The Red Cross chapter said in an email that they provided financial and emotional assistance to one person after the fire.

The 85 Cossey St. property is owned by Carol A. Tucker, according to the Essex County Real Property Office.

There were no injuries related to the fire, Parent said.

Departments from Chilson, Putnam and Crown Point provided mutual aid and Essex County fire investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.

The Ticonderoga department was back in service at approximately 4 p.m., according to Parent.
