CONSTABLE — A fire at 19 Fountain St. here this morning resulted in the total loss of a home.

Departments were sent to the address just after 9 a.m. Monday, Franklin County Dispatch said, with Bangor, Burke, Chateaugay, Malone and Fort Covington providing mutual aid to the Constable department, as well as departments out of Godmanchester and Hinchinbrooke in Quebec.

According to Constable Volunteer Fire Department First Assistant Chief James Dear, there was heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the mobile home when responders first arrived at the address.

There were no injuries, Dear said.

The North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided emergency aid to the two residents who lost their home, a Red Cross press release said. 

The property is owned by Penny Deno, according to the Franklin County Real Property Office.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Constable Department was back in service at 1:05 p.m., according to dispatch.
