The Battle of Valcour didn't end after the fight on Lake Champlain between then-military hero Benedict Arnold's naval forces and the British.

The Saranac Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution marks the 235th anniversary of the pivotal battle on Tuesday, with guest speaker David Glenn, who will address just what occurred in the days after Arnold's inferior force of 15 vessels deliberately engaged about 30 major ships in the British fleet.

The talk, part of the DAR chapter's 116th commemoration of the Battle of Valcour, takes place at 4:30 p.m. in the lobby of Clinton Community College.

Also participating will be the Valcour chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, an American Legion Post 20 color guard, a color guard from the Boy Scouts, as well as a cannonade on Lake Champlain following the event.
