RAY BROOK -- The Adirondack Park Agency will meet Thursday and Friday at APA Headquarters in Ray Brook.

The full agency will convene at 9 a.m. Thursday for Executive Director Terry Martino's report. She will provide an overview of her first year on the job.

At 9:30 a.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider a third renewal for the Westport Development Park's commercial/industrial use permit. This previously approved permit includes a five-lot subdivision involving wetlands.

The committee will also consider a shoreline structure setback variance requested by the YMCA for its Camp Chingachgook facility, located on Lake George.

A proposal for a temporary weather-monitoring mast, submitted by Benson Mines Inc., and the re-consideration of a variance request for a boardwalk and dock are also to be discussed.

At 1 p.m., the State Land Committee will consider Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan compliance for the Jessup River Wild Forest Unit Management Plan in Hamilton County.

At 2:30, the Park Policy and Planning Committee will hear a presentation from Donald Jessome, president and chief executive officer of Champlain-Hudson Power Express Inc. He will overview a plan before the Public Service Commission to extend a proposed 300-mile, 2,000-megawatt electric transmission line from Canada to New York City via Lake Champlain and the Hudson River.

The Adirondack Park Agency is a statutory party to the proceeding because the bed of Lake Champlain is within the park.

The committee will also consider approving a map amendment from Raquette River Boat Club, LLC for lands in the Town of Tupper Lake. The proposal is for re-classifying about 2.5 acres of land from Resource Management to Hamlet.

The committee will consider empowering the APA Board chairman to authorize a memorandum of understanding between the agency and the Department of Environmental Conservation concerning state-owned conservation easements on private lands within the Adirondack Park.

At 9 a.m. Friday, the Legal Affairs Committee will meet to discuss delegating authority to the executive director and deputy director of regulatory programs to approve certain modest shoreline-setback variances.

At 10 a.m., the full agency will convene for the Community Spotlight on Lake George.

At 10:45, the State Land Committee will reconvene for a presentation on the Route 3 Travel Corridor Management Plan.

At 11:15, the full agency will take action and hear committee reports and any public comment.
