Learn to divide irises at Fort Ti

TICONDEROGA -- Iris Division Days in the King's Garden at Fort Ticonderoga will take place the weeks of Aug. 11 and 18 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., when staff will offer division instruction and planting tips for irises. Guests will be able to take a rhizome home for planting, and additional rhizomes will be available for purchase.

Bearded iris form one of the strongest presences in the King's Garden where many varieties bloom in late May and into early June. The Garden is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and offers a number of educational tours and programs.

The Fife & Drum Corps leads a daily procession of visitors from the Fort to the King's Garden at 2 p.m. There is no additional charge for the garden, and local residents are always welcome at no charge.
