CLINTONVILLE — Starting at 5 p.m. today, the 2019 Regional Spelling Bee will be streamed live on Champlain Valley Educational Services's Youtube channel.

The primary link for the spelling bee stream is: https://youtu.be/mum2YYIhP-0.

The backup link, in case the event the stream has an issue, is: https://youtu.be/gsZ9aAPjWj0.

The stream can be watched through any smart device that includes Youtube; just visit the Champlain Valley Educational Services channel and follow the prompts to the live stream.

AuSable Valley Central School is hosting tonight's bee in Clintonville — it earned that honor because Lucas Tardif, who last year was an AVCS eight-grader, won the Regional Bee.

Tardif went on to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, held just outside Washington, D.C.

That trip is sponsored by the Press-Republican, which covers travel, lodging and food.

Tonight's winner, from among contestants coming from schools around the region, will also have that opportunity.
