WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Clinton County Air Force veteran will be Congresswoman Elise Stefanik's guest at tonight's State of the Union in Washington, D.C.
Steve Bowman is director of the Clinton County Veterans Services Agency, a job to which he was appointed in 2004. He and his staff serve an average 800 veterans per month.
He retired from the Air Force in 1994 after 18 honorable years of active service, and is a life member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and the North Country Veterans Association.
He resides in Chazy, New York, with his wife, Gail; they own and operate a family diner in Rouses Point.
“I am honored to be joined by Air Force Veteran Steve Bowman tonight at the President’s State of the Union address,” Stefanik (R-Schuylerville) said in a statement.
“Steve has devoted his entire life to serving others and is someone I look up to and respect deeply. He continues to serve his fellow veterans each and every day, and he personifies the word ‘service.’ I am delighted to bring Steve Bowman as my guest to this historic event.”
