First Weekends announces last Art Walk of 2014
PLATTSBURGH — First Weekends in Plattsburgh is hosting the last Art Walk of the year from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in downtown Plattsburgh.
Those interested in participating can pick up Art Walk Maps at 30 City Hall Place in Plattsburgh or download a copy on the First Weekends in Plattsburgh Facebook page.
Open Mike to benefit Wounded Warrior Project
SCHROON LAKE — An “Open Mic CD & DVD Recording Party” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Witherbee’s Carriage House Restaurant in Schroon Lake will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Harry Chapin Foundation.
The public is welcome and Wounded Warriors are invited as the project’s guests.
The event will celebrate the musicians and original music that Adirondack regulars and vacationers have come to love, according to a press release.
Donations will be accepted and commemorative T-shirts will be available for $15. There will be a 50-50 raffle and food and drink specials.
All proceeds from donations, commemorative T-shirts and the CD/DVD to be sold throughout the year will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org) and the Harry Chapin Foundation (www.harrychapinfoundation.org).
Performing will be Tom Brady and Linda Fayte, Mark Piper, George Parrott, Eric Bright, Barry Gregson and Dave Insull and others.
Witherbee’s Carriage House Restaurant is located at 581 Route 9, Schroon Lake.
