The CP Holiday Train pulls into the Amtrak station in Plattsburgh Wednesday night.
Along with bringing holiday spirit and musical guests, the Holiday Train has now raised nearly $16 million and 4.5 million pounds of food for local food banks and charities along its routes since its inaugural trip in 1999.
This year, Canadian Pacific made a $4,500 donation to the Joint Council of Economic Opportunity of Clinton and Franklin Counties, Inc. during its Plattsburgh stop.
Attendees were also encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for the JCEO food shelf.
Despite heavy rain, attendees of all ages turned out to welcome the train and its crew.
Along with the Plattsburgh stop, the train also made its traditional visits to Rouses Point and Port Henry.
