MANCHESTER, Conn. " Margaret Mae (Joyal) LaBreck, 68, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Margaret was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to the late Howard and Elizabeth (Ashley) Joyal.
She loved to work on crossword puzzles and loved watching movies and listening to music. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her nine children, William Joyal and his partner Kim Todd of New York, Beverly Romano and her husband, Dave, of South Windsor, Conn., Barbara Adamcek and her husband, Richard, of Massachusetts, Kimberly Chaudhary and her husband, Ejaz, of Manchester, James Joyal and his partner Kim Llewellyn of New York, David Joyal and his partner Elizabeth Duffy of Coventry, Conn., Debbie Hoffman and her husband, John, of Coventry, Vickie Joyal of Canada and Lila Smith of Coventry; her 23 grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Billy, Tyler, Christopher, Amanda, Krystal, Nadiya, Sarah, Jay, Whitney, Devin, Bruce, Jessica, Ryan, Katlyn, John, Jenna, Zachary, Justin, Erika, Alexi and David. She is also survived by her loving two brothers, John Joyal and Edward Joyal; her loving sister, Paula O'Donnell and three other siblings. Margaret also leaves behind two special friends, John and Trish; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving granddaughter, Rebecca Hoffman of Coventry; her brother, Robert Joyal; her sister, Patsy Righi.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Eric Carlson, RN, who went above and beyond the call of duty as a nurse and became a special friend to Margaret who thought of him as a son.
Burial with committal prayers will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Coventry. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. on Friday at the First Congregational Church of Coventry, 1171 Main St., Coventry, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce J. Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coventry Scholarship Trust, Attention: Rebecca Hoffman Scholarship Fund, 78 Ripley Hill Road, Coventry, CT 06238.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Coventry Funeral Home, 2665 Boston Turnpike, Coventry.
