PORT HENRY €" Helen Shaw, 84, of Port Henry died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at Albany Medical Center.

Born Jan. 1, 1923, in Schenectady she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Wilson.

She was a graduate of Schenectady High School and went on to obtain a liberal arts degree from Russell Sage College.

Helen worked at WRGB in Schenectady and at Albany Law School where she met her future husband, Harry T. Shaw, Esq. The balance of her career was spent as a legal assistant at her husband's firm and as a homemaker.

Mrs. Shaw is predeceased by her husband, Harry, whom she married in 1957. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Lisa W. Shaw; and her sisters, Margaret Helling and Agnes Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy O'Connor and son-in-law James of Loudonville; and her grandchildren, Brian, John and Grace O'Connor.

Helen touched so many people's lives with her thoughtfulness and extraordinary kindness. Her generous spirit will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Private services will be held for her close friends and family. Interment will follow in Barkersville Cemetery on Wednesday, May 16 at 3 p.m. A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date in Port Henry, N.Y.
