CADYVILLE €" Charles H. LaFountain, 66, of Trudeau Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at the CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 30, 1941, the son of George and Helen R. Mores.

He married Inez P. Mackenzie; she died in 2002.

Charles was owner and operator of C & L Lawn Service for many years, until passing it down to his son.

Mr. LaFountain was a member of the Cadyville Volunteer Fire Department where he won several awards for most calls of the year. He was also a member of the Fire Police.

Survivors include 10 children, Gerald Raymond LaFountain and his companion Kathy St. Louis of Plattsburgh, Darlene Helen Shaw of Winterhaven, Fla., Shelly Anne Neil and her husband Darrell of Jay, Maine, Vicky Lynne LaFountain and her companion Ted Hazard of Torrington, Conn., Tammey Leah LaFountain of Torrington, Conn., Linda Lee LaFountain and her companion Ray Bradley of Beekmantown, Kimberley Sue Casagni and her husband Jimmy of Litchfield, Conn., Charles Hubert LaFountain Jr. and his wife Tasha of Plattsburgh, Brent Timothy LaFountain of Cadyville and Gregory Lee LaFountain and his companion Kimberlee Prew of Cadyville; two brothers, Richard LaFountain and his wife Carrie of Arizona and Robert LaFountain of Plattsburgh; three sisters, Barbara Miles of Connecticut, Patsy Robbinson of Peru and Diane Agnew of Plattsburgh; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Zoie Lynn.

He was predeceased by his parents; wife; and one sister, Joyce LaFountain.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. James Minor Church in Cadyville.

Donations may be made to the Cadyville Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements are in the care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
