Anderson Gay finished just shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds as Westport defeated Lake Placid 45-36 in boys’ Northern Basketball League play Tuesday.

The Eagles held a 26-14 lead at halftime — a big enough cushion to withstand a stronger second half by Lake Placid.

Sam Napper scored eight for the Westport, Robert King had seven and Ryan Davis pulled down 10 rebounds.

Tarik Cecunjanin paced the Blue Bombers with 12 points, while Chris Kordziel and Scott Rossi each tossed in eight.

Chris Kustos added 12 points on five field goals in the 22-point win.

Cortland White totaled 15 points, pacing the Lions. Zac Noka-Bailey fired 12 points.

CHAZY — Anthony DuShane (12) and Michael Graney (11) combined for 23 points in the Sentinels’ 17-point win.

“The game was very close in the first half,” Eagles coach Cory Thompson said. “Both teams played well defensively. We had a slow start to the third quarter and Ticonderoga was able to capitalize.

“Defensively, we were happy to keep Ticonderoga under 50 points (Tuesday). Offensively, we went ice cold in the second half. Michael Graney and Anthony DuShane played well for Ticonderoga.”

Keagan O’Connor paced Chazy with 10 points. Hayden Guay added nine points.

PLATTSBURGH — The Knights had five players record double figures in their 67-point defeat of the Mountaineers Monday.

Adam Tedford (19), Kaden Baugh (18), Nic Favreau (16), Chris Kustos (12) and Keagen Briggs (10) all surpassed the 10-point mark.

Seton Catholic maintained a 54-16 halftime lead and never looked back.

Minerva/Newcomb’s Don Karili, Kaleb Helms, Trevor Moulton and Alex Ruzbacki finished with four points each.
