Lake Placid School District names new network specialist

LAKE PLACID — Lake Placid Central School District has appointed David Romigh as its network specialist.

His responsibilities will be the administration of LPCSD’s computer network, hardware and software installation, maintenance and repair of the district’s computer systems for all administrative, information and instructional technology needs.

The district purchases the IT service from Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES and shares the position with the Tupper Lake Central School District.

Romigh provides Lake Placid with support three days a week and Tupper Lake two days a week. Another BOCES shared IT specialist provides additional support, allowing both districts to have full-time support.

Romigh previously served in consultancy and contractor capacities with CTG Inc., Criterion Systems and Computer Services Group of New York City. During this time, he provided IT support and guidance to a number of Fortune 500 companies and to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Franklin County Legislature meeting set for Tuesday

MALONE — The regular meeting of the Franklin County Legislature will be held Thursday afternoon instead of the usual morning session.

The Public Safety Committee will meet with Emergency Services Director Ricky Provost at 3:30 p.m., and Office for the Aging Director Susan Wilson-Scott will meet at 4 p.m. with the Human Resources Committee.

Legislators will conduct a work session at 4:15 p.m. and make the call to order at 5:30 p.m.

All meetings are held in the fourth-floor chamber of the County Legislature and are open to the public.

Free recycling of electronics offered

SARANAC LAKE — The New York State Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act allows Judi’s Computer Support and Learning Center to recycle electronics at no charge to the public.

Judi’s was registered with the Department of Environmental Conservation as an e-waste recycler in April 2011 but became a member of the eWASTE Alliance Partner Network in October 2011.
