PLATTSBURGH — Several offenders were sentenced recently in Clinton County Court.
Sentences handed down by Judge Kevin Ryan:
Ovid J. LaClair, 40, of Constable pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while intoxicated, both felonies; unsafe lane movement and refusal to take a breath test, both violations; and was sentenced to nine months in jail with a three-year conditional discharge. LaClair was ordered to pay $4,200 in fines and surcharges. He is required to have an Ignition Interlock Device installed on his vehicle.
Sarah Prue, 33, of Chateaugay pleaded guilty to felony DWI and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, a violation, and was sentenced to one to three years in prison concurrent to her other one-to-three-year sentence. Prue was ordered to pay fines and surcharges, provide a DNA sample and pay the $50 sample-collection fee. Her right to an appeal was waved, and she must have an Ignition Interlock Device installed on her vehicle. Her license was suspended for three years conditionally.
Rasuan Sanders, 31, of Elmira pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted promoting prison contraband, a felony, and was sentenced as a second-felony offender to one and a half to three years in prison, consecutive to all other time he must serve.
Nicholas A. Zagres, 22, of Plattsburgh pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and third-degree burglary, all felonies, and was sentenced to concurrent terms of one to three years for the grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument and two to six years for the burglary charge. Zagres was ordered to pay surcharges and restitution.
Sentences handed down by Judge Patrick McGill:
Brandon M. Anderson, 20, of Plattsburgh pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, all felonies, and was sentenced to five years in prison determinate with three years of post-release supervision on the burglary charge and one to three years on the grand-larceny charge. The sentences are to be served concurrently. He is required to pay fines, surcharges and restitution. An order of protection was put in place.
