PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

ELIZABETHTOWN — One person was injured in a two-car accident June 28.

Shortly before 8:27 a.m., James R. Banicki, 52, of Essex Junction, Vt., was attempting to turn from Route 9N to Brainards Forge Road in the Town of Elizabethtown when Yousif E. Elsharif, 51, of Albany, who was traveling behind Banicki, failed to observe his vehicle turning, Lewis-based State Police said.

Elsharif attempted to go around Banicki’s vehicle but struck it, continuing on to crash into an earth embankment, police said.

One person was taken to Elizabethtown Community Hospital, police said.

No further information was available.

PLATTSBURGH — One person was injured in a three-car accident June 26.

Shortly before 7:40 a.m., three vehicles were traveling northwest on Route 22, Ray Brook-based State Police said.

Kacey R. Roberts, 23, of Champlain was driving in front of Heather L. Diaz, 36, of Peru, who was driving in front of Michael J. Young, 38, of Willsboro, police said.

Roberts stopped to make a left turn and Diaz attempted to travel around Robert’s vehicle, police said.

Young’s vehicle struck Robert’s car before striking Diaz’s, police said.

One person was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.

No further information was available.

ELLENBURG — One person was injured in a two-car accident June 24.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Brandon M. Mills, 20, of Ellenburg Depot was traveling east on Route 11 behind a vehicle driven by Gary J. Sorrell, 52, of Altona, Ray Brook-based State Police said.

Sorrell slowed for a vehicle uninvolved in the accident, police said.

Sorrell’s vehicle was then struck in the rear by Mills’s car, which was following too closely, police said.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries resulting from the accident, police said.

No further information was available.

AUSABLE — One person was injured in a one-car accident June 22.

Shortly before 8:07 a.m., L.E. Crowningshield, 47, was driving eastbound in the AuSable Valley Central School parking lot in the Town of AuSable when he allegedly lost consciousness and struck a utility police, Ray Brook-based State Police said.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

There was no damage to the utility pole, police said.

No further information was available.

FELONY ARRESTS

WAVERLY — A Dickinson man was charged with felony criminal mischief June 23.

Darin W. York, 19, allegedly caused an estimated $1,000 of damage to a vehicle in St. Regis Falls, Malone-based State Police said.

York was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony. He was given an appearance ticket but was committed at that time to Franklin County Jail for a probation warrant.

York was set to appear in the Town of Waverly Court July 2 for the felony charge.
