PERU — Donna J. Aloi, 68, of Oakdale Drive, Peru, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Fletcher Allen Healthcare in Burlington, Vt., with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Corinth, May 24, 1945, the daughter of Jack and Doris (DuPlease) Bolton. She grew up in Corinth and Hague and graduated from Corinth High School in 1962. She graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1966 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Donna was an elementary education teacher at the Peru Central School. She retired in 2010.
Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, being at her camp by Lake George, traveling and being outdoors. She cherished her grandchildren, the time spent at camp with her brother and sister-in-law and adventures around the world with her great aunt and fun-loving nieces. She loved her pets and volunteered for the SPCA.
Survivors include her two children, Traci Aloi and her husband Chip Dickerson of Clifton Park, Mark Aloi and his wife Courtney of Keeseville; their father, James Aloi; her grandchildren, Emmit Aloi and Kaitlin, Connor and Brooke Dickerson; her brother Donald Bolton and his wife Penny; her nieces, Donielle Bolton and Dianna Bolton, her great aunt, Virginia Corey; and her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Baker. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Doris Bolton.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Alan D. Shnob, parish pastor, celebrating.
