“Right now, the plant is operating fine,” Bennett continued. “It’s just a very expensive project. Last time, it was over a million dollars to get the sludge removed. It’s probably been 14 or 15 years.”
DOGS: Contrary to a rumor circulating in the village, the Community Center’s property is dog friendly, Bennett said.
“We allow residents to walk their dogs on the property. Some of them were told we had banned people from using the property out front and in back of the Community Center.
“It wasn’t a village employee (who said that). We don’t know who told them. The village never banned it.”
Dogs must be leashed, and owners must pick up after their animals.
“We want people to use the Community Center,” Bennett said.
The next Village Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Village Office, 40 Emmons St., Dannemora.
