MALONE — Track seating for the Vince Gill concert at the Franklin County Fair is sold out, but grandstand seats are still available.
The country-music legend is performing at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the Coca-Cola Grandstand as part of the 163rd edition of the fair, which runs from Aug. 3 through Aug. 11 this year.
County Agricultural Society Board of Directors Secretary Pat Maneely said the Little River Band show set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, is another popular ticket.
“There are still some track seats left for that, and tickets are selling really well,” she said.
With less than a month before the fair kicks off for another year, Maneely said preparing to bring such a diverse series of events together has seen only a few bumps.
“Everything is coming together and seems to be going along pretty smooth,” she said.
Trophies for the various events are being ordered, and entries are coming in for a chance to compete for a blue, red or white ribbon in the many show categories including cattle, saddle horses, Holsteins, goats, poultry, farm produce, food exhibits, grange displays and domestic arts.
Season tickets are $50, which covers daily admission and access to most grandstand shows. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free all week, and parking on the fairgrounds is $5. Reserved-track seats are $15 and $20 and do not include admission to the fairgrounds the day of the event.
