Brothers was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in Brasher Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

He is due to appear in Hopkinton Town Court today.

 MOIRA — A Moira woman was charged Saturday with burglary.

Cynthia A. Whippia, 34, was charged with third-degree burglary.

Her arrest stems from a report of the theft of a riding lawnmower from a residence on O’Connell Road in the Town of Moira, State Police said.

Whippia unlawfully entered the garage of the residence and stole a 2012 Craftsman riding lawnmower while the homeowner was not home.

She was arraigned in Moira Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

 TUPPER LAKE — A resident at Sunmount Developmental Center in Tupper Lake was charged March 11 with assault.

At about 9 a.m., Matthew J. Larkin, 26, tried to leave the building and had to be physically restrained by staff, State Police said.

When a trooper assisted the staff with restraining Larkin, he continued to resist by striking, spitting and kicking staff members and the trooper, police said.

He was charged with second-degree attempted assault, a felony; third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

Larkin was arraigned in Tupper Lake Town Court and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

PLATTSBURGH — Two were charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

On Nov. 9, 2013 a woman reported her credit card was stolen out of her car while it was parked at Champlain Centre in Plattsburgh, State Police said.

Briana D. Atkinson, 22, of Plattsburgh was charged Feb. 19 with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

Also incurring that charge was Franklin Rudolph, police said.

No further information was available Tuesday.
