FELONY ARRESTS

BURKE — A Burke man was charged April 10 with felony drunken driving.

Marc J. Johnston, 22, was stopped by State Police around 1:15 a.m. on Route 11 in the Town of Burke, according to a State Police blotter entry.

He was arrested at 1:50 a.m. and charged with felony DWI; reckless driving, a misdemeanor; third-degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and four traffic infractions: drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to keep right, unsafe turning, and speeding, according to the blotter entry.

PLATTSBURGH — A Keeseville woman was charged Feb. 23 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

At about 2 a.m., Shelly L. Flora, 46, was driving a gray 1989 GMC Sierra southbound on Route 9 in the Town of Plattsburgh when a trooper saw she had no license plate lamp and puller her over on Moffit Road, State Police said.

The trooper noticed an odor of alcohol on her breath and Flora failed field sobriety tests, police said.

She was taken to the State Police barracks in Plattsburgh where her blood-alcohol content was found to be .07 percent, police said.

Police also learned her license was suspended, police said.

She was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony; driving while ability impaired by alcohol, an infraction; no plate lamp, an infraction, and moving from lane unsafely.

Flora was issued a court appearance ticket and was released to a third party, police said.

PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

PIERCEFIELD — A Saranac woman was injured in a snowmobile accident March 20.

A few minutes before 2 p.m., Theresa Lautenschuetz, 37, was riding with a group on a trail near the Thirsty Moose Pub and Grub when she lost control of the snowmobile and struck her head on a tree, State Police said.

She was treated at the crash site by the Piercefield Volunteer Fire Department and was later taken to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, police said.
