FELONY ARRESTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Morrisonville man was arrested on grand larceny charges Monday.

According to Plattsburgh City Police Chief Desmond Racicot, Christopher Daniels, 19, entered the vacant bedroom of a resident who was having a party on South Catherine Street from Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Between the hours of 1 and 3 a.m. Daniels allegedly stole cash, a laptop, an Xbox, sneakers and cigars, Racicot said.

The resident reported the incident to police.

Daniels was arrested by City Police at 8 p.m. Monday following a Cornelia Street traffic stop, Racicot said.

He was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny of property valued at more than $1,000.

Daniels was arraigned in City Court and was released pretrial. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 6 in Plattsburgh City Court.

PLATTSBURGH — A Morrisonville man was arrested Jan. 8 on grand larceny charges.

Between the hours of 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 30, 2012, Wayne M. Goddeau, 28, allegedly stole a high-end steal chainsaw valued at $1,109 from Dame’s Rental & Sales Center in the Town of Plattsburgh, according to the Plattsburgh-based State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The incident was reported to State Police by the store’s manager on Nov. 1.

Police determined Goddeau was the thief through video surveillance and interviews, police said.

The chainsaw was not recovered, police said.

At the time of his arrest, Goddeau was in Clinton County Jail serving time for another offense, police said.

He was taken to the Plattsburgh-based Police barracks Jan. 8 and was arrested there and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny of property valued at more than $1,000.

Goddeau was brought back to Clinton County Jail with his bail requirements increased to a $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond on top of the bail for the other incident, police said.

WAVERLY — A North Bangor woman was arrested Dec. 30 on grand larceny charges.

Employees from St. Regis Falls Adult Center noticed an unauthorized debit transaction and other money missing from their accounts and reported it to State Police on Nov. 14, 2012, according to the Malone-based State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Police determined that $1,029 was stolen over a period of months in 2012, police said.

They arrested Linda S. Demo, 51, at the Malone State Police barracks. She was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny of property valued at more than $1,000, a felony.

She was released on an appearance ticket for a later court date, police said.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS

CHAMPLAIN — A State Police patrol car was damaged in an accident Monday.

Trooper Christian Wager was driving on I-87 south of Champlain at about 9:50 p.m. on snow-covered roads when his vehicle went off the road and struck a guide rail, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police Lt. Todd St. Louis.

“That was definitely a factor,” St. Louis said of the poor driving conditions, adding that the State Police are thankful no one was injured in the accident.

St. Louis said the accident is under investigation and the circumstances surrounding the crash with be reconstructed.

“We take highway safety very seriously,” St. Louis said.
