SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was arrested Dec. 3 for allegedly failing to register in accordance with the state Sex Offender Registration Act.
William J. Strack, 45, turned himself in to Saranac Lake Police after he learned he was wanted on an arrest warrant, according to a news release from the Saranac Lake Police Department.
Strack allegedly failed to register a change of address within 10 days of moving, which is a requirement of the state law.
He was charged with sex offender failure to register and verify address, a felony.
Strack was arraigned in Saranac Lake Village Court and was released after posting $1,500 cash bail.
SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake woman was arrested Dec. 3 in connection with an alleged check forgery, police said.
Nicole M. Schelle, 27, altered a check that did not belong to her and cashed it at a local store, according to a news release from the Saranac Lake Police Department.
Schelle was charged with second-degree forgery, a felony; possession of a forged instrument, a felony; second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.
She was arraigned in Saranac Lake Village Court and sent to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
PLATTSBURGH — A West Chazy man was arrested Nov. 29 after he allegedly violated the terms of his probation.
Joseph W. Barcomb, 21, was arrested on a warrant issued by Clinton County Court that alleged Barcomb violated the terms of his felony probation from previous third-degree burglary conviction, according to a news release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
Barcomb was arraigned in Clinton County Court and was sent to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or bond, the Sheriff’s Department said.
He is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
HOGANSBURG — A Hogansburg man was charged Nov. 27 in connection with alleged fraud.
Wade T. Mitchell, 37, was charged with first-degree falsifying business records; first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and third-degree grand larceny, all felonies.
Mitchell was arraigned in Fort Covington Town Court and was sent to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash or $4,000 bond.
No further information was available Tuesday.
HOGANSBURG — A Hogansburg woman was charged Nov. 26 with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and drunken driving.
Following a car accident on St. Regis Road in Hogansburg in which was vehicle rolled over, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police arrested Dawn L. Delormier, 42, according to a news release from the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe.
Delormier was charged with driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years, a felony; first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony; a seat belt violation and speed not reasonable and prudent, a violation.
Tribal Police allege Delormier’s blood-alcohol content was .15 percent.
She was arraigned in Fort Covington Town Court and sent to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
PLATTSBURGH — A Morrisonville woman was injured in a two-car accident Nov. 18.
At about 7:47 p.m., Cieara E. Duquette, 18, of Plattsburgh, made a left-hand turn out of Five Guys restaurant, to head eastbound on State Route 3, according to Plattsburgh-based State Police.
A second vehicle, driven by Brittany A. Dapo, 22, of Morrisonville, was traveling in the westbound lane and struck Duquette’s vehicle, police said.
Duquette and passengers in her vehicle weren’t injured, however Dapo was transported to CVPH for minor injuries and was later released, police said.
Duquette was ticketed for failure to yield to right of way.
