Saranac moves into Class C volleyball semis

SARANAC — After splitting each of the first two sets, the Saranac volleyball team reeled off consecutive wins to record a 3-1 Section VII Class C quarterfinal victory over Saranac Lake Tuesday.

Morgan Juneau led the way for the Chiefs, recording 16 points on six aces and five kills.

Anna Dorrance and Charlotte Stevens were also significant contributors on offense. Dorrance accumulated 12 points, four aces and nine assists, while Stevens totaled eight points, four aces, 10 assists and one kill.

Loni LaPoint added eight points, four aces and one kill in the two-set win.

Saranac advances to the semifinal round where it will face AuSable Valley in Clintonville at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Press-Republican did not receive a game results submission from Saranac Lake.
