Ti police chief to meet with business owners

TICONDEROGA — Ticonderoga Town Police Chief Mark Johns will be meeting with business leaders to find out about their concerns.

The round-table session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce offices in downtown Ticonderoga.

“(This) will be an opportunity for Ticonderoga businesses and organizations to meet with Chief Johns,” chamber Executive Director Matthew Courtright said in a news release.

“Participants will be able to discuss concerns, issues, ideas and positive initiatives we can work together on.

“In addition, Chief Johns will be able to share information from the Ticonderoga Police Department.”

Refreshments will be provided by Stewart’s Shops in Ticonderoga.

Johns said he thinks the round-table event will be worthwhile and hopes those in attendance will bring up any issues they’d like to talk over.

“I look forward to receiving feedback, ideas and suggestions from the local business community to better serve Ticonderoga as a whole,” he said in the release.

“I am pleased to be working with the chamber to provide this opportunity as way to keep positive communication between the local police department and the community.”

The meeting is open to all, but anyone who wishes to attend is asked to email to chamberinfo@ticonderogany.com to make sure there’s enough seating.
