TO THE EDITOR: The Mooers Wesleyan Food Pantry thanks the many churches, church groups, clubs, organizations, businesses, schools and individuals who donated food, conducted food drives or made a monetary contribution to the pantry during the past year.
The food pantry is an all-volunteer-based community organization that strives to provide supplemental nutrition to the low-income, disabled and elderly living in the towns of Altona, Champlain, Chazy, Ellenburg, Mooers, Mooers Forks, Rouses Point and West Chazy.
Our volunteers spend several days each month loading and unloading deliveries of food, completing paperwork, ordering inventory, stocking shelves, packing boxes and fund raising.
Registered families now number over 750, with between 160 and 190 households being served in any given month.
It is a real challenge to meet the needs of those we serve, but with the generosity from members of the community this challenge becomes a little easier.
We could not accomplish our goal of assisting the hungry in our local area without the support from the surrounding communities. With gratitude we extend our thanks and appreciation to all of our supporters.

TO THE EDITOR: Kudos to the doctors, nurses, therapists, nurse assistants and all the staff who run the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Meadowbrook Health Care facility.
The employees there are exemplary. They have served both of my parents and gave excellent care.
I also personally know a lady who was admitted there approximately four months ago from Fletcher Allen who could not move her arms or legs. She walked out of Meadowbrook on her own to return to her home several days ago.
Anyone needing rehabilitation services will be well served at this facility.
Thanks again to all the staff.
