MALONE — A Brushton man was charged with felony drunken driving Saturday.
At about 7:50 p.m., Troy L. Pearson, 35, was pulled over for a traffic stop in the parking lot of the K-Mart plaza, according to a news release from State Police.
Pearson was subsequently arrested and his blood alcohol content was determined to be .26 percent, the release said.
He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, with a previous conviction in the past 10 years, and aggravated driving while intoxicated, for having a blood alcohol content .18 percent or greater. Pearson was also ticketed for failure to keep right, inadequate brake light, failure to signal lane change, refusal to take a breath test roadside and failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of address change.
Pearson is to appear in Malone Town Court Feb. 24 at 9:30 a.m.
MALONE — A chimney fire was reported at 34 Robinson Circle Tuesday evening.
The 911 call came at 6:21 p.m., according to Franklin County Dispatch.
Malone Callfiremen responded to the home of Scott Robinson. Constable, Bangor and Moira fire departments were turned around while en route to the residence and Westville Fire Department stood by near a water source as a precaution.
“Fortunately (the fire) was contained to the chimney,” said Malone Callfiremen Chief Paul Langdon.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire and no damage was done to the house.
The firemen finished cleaning the chimney and were back in service at 7:49 p.m., Langdon said.
