Holmes was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a felony, police said.

She was issued an appearance ticket to the Malone Town Court for Oct. 15.

WESTVILLE — A Malone man was arrested for felony burglary March 30.

At about 10:18 a.m., Thomas R Cook, 23, allegedly broke into a garage on State Route 37 in Westville and stole a Mercury outboard motor and damaged a fishing boat, Malone-based State Police said.

Cook was charged with burglary in the third degree, a felony, police said.

He was remanded to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. He is rescheduled to reappear in Westville Court Nov. 12.

PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

WESTVILLE — A Malone woman was injured in a two-car accident October 19.

At about 2:45 p.m., Brenda L Armstrong-Recore, 40, of Constable, was traveling southwest on Freeman Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of County Route 37, Malone-based State Police said.

Her vehicle collided with another, driven by Brittany L Boyea, 28, who was subsequently transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center for complaint of leg pain, police said.

Armstrong-Recore was issued three traffic tickets.

BEEKMANTOWN — A Chazy man was injured in a one-car accident October 12.

At about 12:20 a.m., James R Jacobs Jr., 51, failed to stop at an intersection at Stratton Hill Road while traveling northbound on Ashley Road, Chazy-based State Police said.

Jacobs then exited the roadway, striking a tree. He complained of should pain and was transported to CVPH Medical Center, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor; refusal to take a breath test, speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, moving from lane unsafely and failure to keep right, all infractions.

SARANAC — A fire at 34 Ahern Road destroyed a detached garage at the Ahern Residence.
