Beekmantown School Board meeting set
BEEKMANTOWN — The annual organizational meeting of Beekmantown Central School Board will be held at 6:15 tonight in the Middle/High School library.
The board will elect a president and vice president, designate meeting dates and make annual appointments.
The regular meeting will continue with appointments and contract awards. A complete agenda is available on the district website: www.bcsdk12.org.
The public may attend.
More city hydrant flushing planned for today
PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Fire Department will continue flushing hydrants today.
The streets affected, sometime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., will be Crescent Driver, Eastgate, Carlton, Drive, Broadway, Trafalgar, Pinewood, Flaglar, Belmont, Saratoga Court, Prospect, Addoms and Jeffrey Lane.
Water in the system will be stirred up and may be cloudy or rust colored coming out of the faucet during the flushing. Residents are urged to avoid washing clothes or bathing during that time.

TUPPER LAKE — Tupper Lake and Ticonderoga have Independence Day activities planned for Wednesday.
The Tupper Lake Independence Day Celebration and Race Night will be held starting at 5 p.m. at the Municipal Park on Demars Boulevard.
Bed races, sack races, live music and performances by the 198 Army Band from Rochester are planned.
Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. on the waterfront.
In Ticonderoga, the Best Fourth in the North includes events from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at Bicentennial Park, with food, vendors and carnival rides (bracelets 5 to 9 p.m., $20).
At 5 and 7 p.m., Buffalo Barfield & Unherd-of-Entertainment Live! and Americana entertain. At 6 and 8 p.m., White Hot Monkey Love performs.
The Ticonderoga celebration continues Thursday.
DWI crackdown planned over holiday week
MALONE — State, city and county police agencies will participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving over the holiday week.
