FELONY ARRESTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged with sodomy and assault Sunday.

Dale George, 51, allegedly went to the residence of a woman who he had previously been in a relationship with, violating a court order of protection, Plattsburgh City Police said.

A person related to the victim called police alerting officers to the situation, police said.

Investigation found George had physically abused the woman on multiple occasions over several days, police said.

The woman was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for treatment of injuries she sustained as a result of George’s alleged misconduct, police said.

George was arrested on five felony charges: first-degree sodomy; aggravated criminal contempt; second-degree strangulation; two counts of second-degree assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and taken to Clinton County Jail.

The Clinton County District Attorney’s Office recommended George’s bail be set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, police said.

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged Sunday with burglary and attempted assault following an alleged altercation.

Brian Rodriguez, 24, was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and third-degree attempted assault.

On Saturday afternoon, Plattsburgh City Police officers responded to a location where a fight had been reported and found Rodriguez had assaulted his ex-girlfriend, police said.

A person who called the police had chased Rodriguez out of the area, police said.

Officers saw signs of a physical struggle and saw that the woman had sustained minor injuries, police said.

Rodriguez was arraigned in City Court after his arrest.

CROWN POINT — Two Crown Point men were charged Friday with burglary after they allegedly vandalized a library.

On Friday, Devin M. McCoy, 18, and James T. Blanchard, 17, were both arrested at the Hammond Library, 2732 Main Street, in the Town of Crown Point.

The pair burglarized the building, breaking its windows, police said.

Both McCoy and Blanchard were charged with third-degree burglary, a felony.

McCoy was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Both men were released on appearance tickets to appear in Crown Point Town Court on Sept. 5.

MALONE — A Malone man was charged with grand larceny Aug. 27.

Troopers arrested Pierre L. Drouin, 69, at 3938 Route 11 in the Town of Malone, according to a State Police blotter entry.

Drouin was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

No details regarding the alleged crime were available Monday.

Drouin was arraigned in Malone Town Court and was sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.

He is due to reappear in court today.

PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENTS

PERU — At least one person was injured in a one-car accident Saturday.

Shortly before 2:12 p.m., Susan E. Bonilla, 45, of Plattsburgh was driving southbound on Military Turnpike in the Town of Peru when she took her eyes off the road to look at a dog in the back seat of her car and her vehicle went off the roadway and onto the shoulder, continuing 50 feet before striking a utility police and rolling over, police said.

No further information was available.

CROWN POINT — A Crown Point teen was injured in an ATV accident Friday.

Shortly before 5:39 p.m., Dean M. Armstrong, 14, was traveling north on Sand Hill Road in the Town of Crown Point when he failed to successfully drive through a portion of the road that was curved and was ejected from the four-wheeler, Lewis-based State Police said.

The vehicle continued north, striking an earth embankment, police said.

No further information was available.

WESTVILLE — A Massena man was injured in a two-car accident Friday.

Shortly before 11:06 a.m., Bryan J. Marcellus, 24, was traveling south on Route 37 in the Town of Westville when he fell asleep and his vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, striking a car driven by Russel J. Shaffer, 52, of Middleburg, Penn., Malone-based State Police said.

Marcellus’s vehicle exited the east shoulder and struck a home at 3469 Route 37, police said.

The homeowner was notified of the incident, police said.

Marcellus was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone and then transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt., police said.

He was cited for failure to keep right.

Route 37 between Cushman Road and County Route 20 in the Town of Westville was closed from 11:30 a.m. until 12:55 p.m. because of the accident, according to the Department of Transportation.

BURKE — A Constable man was injured in a one-car accident Aug. 27.

Shortly before 8:01 p.m., Logan M. Allen, 19, was traveling southbound on Constable Burke Townline Road in the Town of Burke when he swerved to avoid a dog in the road and his vehicle exited the east shoulder of the road, striking a ditch and a tree, Malone-based State Police said.

Allen was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone for treatment of injuries, police said.

CHATEAUGAY — At least one person was injured in a two-car accident Aug. 27.

Shortly before 12:32 p.m., Elric D. Viau, 67, of Potsdam was traveling east on Route 11 in the Town of Chateaugay when he struck a vehicle driven by Herb O. Metcalfe, 63, of Ottawa, Canada, that was stopped in traffic in front of Stewart’s, Malone-based State Police said.

Viau’s vehicle was towed from the scene and he was issued a ticket for following too closely, police said.

SCHROON LAKE — A Schroon Lake man was injured in a two-car accident Aug. 23.

Shortly before 2:34 p.m., Joseph Dezalia, 18, was traveling on River Road in the Town of Schroon Lake when his vehicle drifted into the opposite lane, striking the car driven by Donald Bessey Jr., 54, of Schroon Lake, causing Bessey’s car to go off the road, Ray Brook-based State Police said.

Dezalia was taken to Inter-Lakes Health in Ticonderoga for treatment of injuries, police said.

DANNEMORA — One person was injured in a two-car accident Aug. 19.

Shortly before 3:53 p.m., Paul W. MacDougal, 44, of Champlain was slowing to accommodate traffic while driving eastbound on Route 374 at the intersection with State Road when his vehicle was hit from behind by a car driven by Edward J. Stickle, 51, of Morrisonville, Plattsburgh-based State Police said.

Police said Stickle was following MacDougal’s car too closely.
