FELONY ARRESTS

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged with sodomy and assault Sunday.

Dale George, 51, allegedly went to the residence of a woman who he had previously been in a relationship with, violating a court order of protection, Plattsburgh City Police said.

A person related to the victim called police alerting officers to the situation, police said.

Investigation found George had physically abused the woman on multiple occasions over several days, police said.

The woman was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for treatment of injuries she sustained as a result of George’s alleged misconduct, police said.

George was arrested on five felony charges: first-degree sodomy; aggravated criminal contempt; second-degree strangulation; two counts of second-degree assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court and taken to Clinton County Jail.

The Clinton County District Attorney’s Office recommended George’s bail be set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, police said.
