AuSable Valley modified sports meeting Thursday CLINTONVILLE — AuSable Valley athletics will be having their modified coaches, parent, athlete meeting for the fall season Thursday in the middle/high school auditorium. Stick ‘n’ puck, public skating times announced PLATTSBURGH — Ameri-Can North Sports Center will hold stick ‘n’ puck and public skating this weekend. Stick ‘n’ puck will be held Friday from 5:30-7 p.m. and Sunday from 2:30-4 p.m. Public skating will take place Sunday from 1-2:30 p.m.
North Country Handicap League holding meeting ROUSES POINT — The North Country Handicap League that bowls on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. will hold a meeting Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at North Bowl Lanes. The league is looking for bowlers and five-man teams to bowl. It is a handicap league with 100 percent handicap. PSU women’s basketball holding meeting Aug. 27 PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women’s basketball program will hold an information meeting on Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in room 303 of Memorial Hall. Ice shows continue in Lake Placid LAKE PLACID --- The 2013 summer skating series continues this weekend, Aug. 23 and 24, with Friday’s Freaky Friday and the Saturday Night Ice Show at the Olympic Center, in Lake Placid. Friday’s Freaky Friday event begins at 4:30 p.m., while the Saturday night’s show is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. Both events will be held in the center’s 1932 Rink Jack Shea Arena. U.S. skater Ryan Bradley will star in the Saturday Night Ice Show. The 29 year-old Bradley, who is a frequent guest skater in Lake Placid, skated to the 2011 U.S. national championship crown and 2009 Skate America bronze medal. He is also a three-time U.S. collegiate champion. Joining Bradley will be skaters participating in the 81st annual summer skating program. The skaters will perform their individual and group numbers during this entertaining event. Admission to the show is $10 for adults, $8 for juniors and seniors. Children six and under may enter for free. The ever-popular Freaky Friday show will also feature skaters from the summer skating program, who create their own unique routines for this event. The skaters abandon their regular routines in favor of creativity, humor and amusement. The routines are judged on entertainment value. Admission is free.
