BURKE — Two northern Franklin County villages have elections Tuesday, but none of the candidates have challengers.
In Burke, incumbent Patsy Rousell is running unopposed for another two-year seat on the Village Board.
Polls are open from noon to 9 p.m. at the Town Hall.
In Chateaugay, Mayor Jason LaPlante will run for a full two-year term after filling the unexpired term left when former Mayor Billy Jones resigned.
Two incumbent trustees, Francis Boadway and Charles Cheyne, are each running unopposed for their two-year seats on the Village Board.
Polls are open from noon to 9 p.m. at the Village Offices.
Gun control on Clinton County Legislature agenda
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Legislature will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Legislative Chambers on the second floor of the Government Center, 137 Margaret St., Plattsburgh.
The agenda includes the state gun-control law; a contract for transportation of optical-scan voting machines, ballot-marking devices and other election-related supplies and equipment; transfer of funding from the tobacco reserve; and relocation of the Workers’ Compensation Board hearing site from Plattsburgh to Saranac Lake.
The meetings are open to the public.
Westport Central School Board meeting set
WESTPORT — The Westport Central School Board will hold a budget meeting, followed by its regular monthly session, starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the library.
Agenda items include budget discussions, the senior trip presentation, and appointments.
