---- — MORRISONVILLE — The 60th Clinton County Fair gets rolling today, with half-price admission, fireworks and a plethora of other events, including the sheep and goat show.
The 8 p.m. grandstand show, with free admission, is High Valley Band, sponsored by Econo Lodge Inn & Suites, 97.5 Eagle Country and Roberts Sport Center.
Carnival rides are free from noon to 1 p.m.
Pay $4 per person to get onto the Clinton County Fairgrounds, with children ages 3 and younger free.
Fairgoers are asked to bring in non-perishable items for donation to local food shelves.
Daily, visit the FFA, cattle, horse and domestic and fine arts exhibits daily; vendor buildings are open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the fair, which continues through Sunday.
Parking is free.
Here’s the schedule for today:
8 a.m.: 4-H sheep show.
9 a.m.: 4-H mini classes in the PrimeLink horse arena.
10 a.m.: 4-H dog show at the North Country Squares Building.
Noon: Carnival rides start (first hour free).
Noon to 9 p.m.: 4-H Dairy Bar opens.
Noon to 3 p.m.: Serge & the Lonestar Band in the Stewart’s Shop Gazebo.
1 p.m.: 4-H Driving classes in the PrimeLink Horse Arena (or one hour after last mini class).
1, 4, 7:30 p.m.: Chainsaw sculptor Mark Tyoe, sponsored by Tammy Perrotte Sears of RE/MAX North Country.
1:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.: Animal Alley Productions, sponsored by Palmer Veterinary Clinic.
2, 4 and 7 p.m.: Pipsqueaks Party Time Clown Show Sponsored by Price Chopper at the Children’s Stage
2, 5 and 7 p.m.: Buffalo Barfield’s “Unherd-of-Entertainment,” family show, sponsored by National Bath Systems LLC.
3:30 p.m.: Master hypnotist Michael Blaine at the Sample Lumber Co. LLC Stage, sponsored by North Country Auto Glass & Trim Shop, Adirondack Energy, Adirondack Waste Solutions and 102.3 MIX FM.
4 p.m.: 4-H dressage in the PrimeLink Horse Arena.
6 p.m.: Opening ceremonies with Summer and Brooke Gillespie singing the national anthem at the Stewart’s Shop Gazebo, sponsored by LaBarge Agency; sheep and goat show in the Goat & Sheep Barn.
7 p.m. 4-H parade/drill in the PrimeLink Horse Arena.
8 p.m.: Coin Hunt in the Sawdust Pile, sponsored by UFirst Federal Credit Union, GP Community Federal Credit Union, Dannemora Federal Credit Union, TD Bank and Peru Federal Credit Union ($100 added each day); High Valley Band at the Plattsburgh Live Grandstand.
8 to 11 p.m.: Bootleg Band at the Stewart’s Shop Gazebo.
Dusk: Dr. Joe’s Coyote Fireworks Co., sponsored by Reithoffer Shows and Clinton County Fair.
Also, through the day, Fire Safety Demonstrations by Clinton County Fire Association and New York State Office of Fire Prevention & Control.
