PLATTSBURGH — Two Saranac Lake men have been charged with rape.
On Thursday, July 3, State Police arrested Reginald Normil and Fernando J. Francois, both 22, accusing them of raping an 18-year-old female June 21 at a hotel in Plattsburgh.
According to a New York State Police press release on Monday, the victim used the app Meet Me, where users can enter their zip code to meet people in their area, the release said.
The suspects allegedly provided the victim with alcohol before sexually assaulting her.
Normil was charged with first-degree rape, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
Francois was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, forcible touching and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
Normil and Francois were both arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court.
Normil was sent to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond. Francois was sent to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 bond.
