Restaurant employee charged with stealing

PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man failed to deliver some cash and checks his employer entrusted to him, police say.

Justin P. Boulerice, 23, was charged Thursday, June 12, with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Police say he stole an envelope containing $2,000 in cash and personal checks that belonged to his employer, the Homestead Restaurant at 364 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh.

“He was supposed to deliver the cash and checks to Bazzano’s Pizza,” State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said Monday morning.

That eatery is located at 5031 South Catherine St. in the City of Plattsburgh.

Boulerice had been given the errand on June 10. But a few days later, someone from Bazzano’s called the Homestead, “asking why the money never made it,” the trooper said.

The Homestead called State Police.

Boulerice was arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and sent home on the pre-trial-release program.

He is due back in court on Thursday, June 19.

Boulerice is no longer employed at the Homestead.
