SARANAC LAKE — A two-car accident on Monday resulted in an injury.
The accident took place at 4:14 p.m. when a 1999 Mercury driven by Allen Trombley, 40, of Tupper Lake, was heading southwest on Lapan Highway and struck a 2004 Chevrolet from behind, according to Saranac Lake Police.
The Chevrolet was driven by Mark DeGroat, 32, of Theresa, N.Y.
DeGroat was evaluated by Saranac Lake Rescue and was not transported. Trombley was ticketed for following too closely, police said.
The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
SARANAC LAKE — A Saranac Lake man was charged early Saturday with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, according to Saranac Lake Police.
Steven A. Beaney, 33, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. Saranac Lake Police said that he was observed by patrols attempting to engage numerous other parties in a physical altercation.
Police said that Beaney was combative when placed under arrest and resisted the officers’ attempts to place him in the patrol car. They added that he kicked the rear door frame of the patrol car, bending it, and that the damage is believed to be in excess of $250.
Beaney was arraigned in Saranac Lake Village Court and sent to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $2,500 or $5,000 bond.
SARANAC LAKE — A Vermontville man was charged with felony DWI on Friday, according to Saranac Lake Police.
Nathan A. Rousseau, 24, was arrested at 7:55 p.m. and was processed and released, to appear in Village Court at a later date.
Police said that Rousseau was involved in a two-car property-damage accident and was found to be intoxicated. Rousseau has a previous conviction for DWI within the past ten years, police said.
