Clinton County Legislature to meet Wednesday
PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Legislature will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Legislative Chambers on the second floor of the Government Center, 137 Margaret St.
Among the resolutions to be acted upon are accepting bids for the sale of buildings and structures at the former Clinton County Airport, authorizing a contract with the New York State Unified Court System and denying application for correction of errors from various towns in Clinton County.
City hydrant flushing continues
PLATTSBURGH —The City of Plattsburgh Fire Department will continue flushing hydrants today.
The streets affected, sometime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., will be Pine, Smith, Broad, Oak, Brinkerhoff, Court, Clinton, Marion, Margaret and Durkee; City Hall Place; and Bridge, Peru, Pond and Caroline streets.
Water in the system will be stirred up and may be cloudy or rust colored coming out of the faucet during the flushing. Residents are urged to avoid washing clothes or bathing during that time.
Beekmantown to count dogs
BEEKMANTOWN — The dog control officer for the Town of Beekmantown will be conducting a dog enumeration during the summer months.
By law, all owners of dogs 4 months of age and older must be licensed with the town they reside in.
Any owner found to be in violation of dog licensing requirements will be ticketed and an additional fee of $5 per dog will be assessed.
Agenda planned for NACS Board reorganization
ELLENBURG – The Northern Adirondack Central School Board will meet at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the District Office conference room.
A reorganizational meeting will begin with election of the board president and vice president, appointments of district officials and other appointments for the 2013-14 school year.
An executive session will follow at about 6 p.m. to discuss the employment history of certain individuals and collective negotiations.
The regular meeting will begin at about 6:45 and will include an overview of the EXCEL Capital Improvement Project.

Chazy Town Offices holiday closure planned
CHAZY — The Chazy Town offices will be closed on July 4 and 5 for the holiday weekend.
Moriah School Board meeting coming up
MORIAH — Moriah Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, in the High School library.
This will be the annual organizational meeting.
It is open to the public.
Families neededfor student exchange program
PLATTSBURGH —International Student Exchange Programs is seeking local host families for boys and girls from a variety of countries around the world, including France, Spain, Norway, Finland, Germany, China, Thailand and many others.
The students, ages 15 through 18, are coming to the area for the upcoming high-school year or semester.
They are academically selected, conversant in English, bright and excited to learn about America by living as part of a family.
The students arrive from their home country shortly before school begins and return at the end of the school year or semester. Each student is fully insured, brings his or her own personal spending money and expects to contribute to household responsibilities, as well as being included in normal family activities and lifestyles.
