Katherine S. Booth graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, Winkle Scholarship and the Tony Papa Memorial Award for Art. Booth will be interning at Maine Media Workshops and College in Rockport, Maine. She is the daughter of Chris and Janet Booth of Plattsburgh.
Michele Elizabeth Aubin of Peru has graduated from Utica College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Charles Remillard of Peru was one of 62 SUNY Oneonta student athletes named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the fall 2012 season. To qualify, a student must be a varsity athlete who has completed the entire season and earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.3 for the semester. Remillard, who is majoring in adolescence education/physics, was a member of the fall 2012 men’s cross-country team.
Area students who earned degrees at the University at Albany include Hannah Gardiner of Chateaugay, cum laude, Bachelor of Arts in rhetoric and communication; Nicholas Bechard of Champlain, Master of Arts in economics; and Amanda Halevan of Peru, Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary-human biology.
Marcy Weber of Elizabethtown and Cayla Cluckey of Saranac Lake have been inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Lauren Grady of Plattsburgh graduated summa cum laude from University at Albany with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in education. During her years at Albany, she led a research project for Dr. Mitchell Earleywine, won a Presidential Undergraduate Research Award and was active in the UAlbany Honors College and as an officer of the Presidential Honor Society. Grady was also inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa and Psi Chi honor societies. She completed internships at the Capital District Psychiatric Center in Albany, the Traumatic Brain Injury Center in Plattsburgh and the National Alliance for Mental Illness in Albany. In the fall, she will start on her master’s degree at the University at Albany School of Social Work, where she has been awarded an assistantship. She is the daughter of Bob Grady and Lois Clermont of Plattsburgh.
