CHATEAUGAY — After courageously battling a long illness, Louella Thibeault Clark, 82, of Chateaugay passed away at CVPH Medical Center on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013.
Louella was born in Churubusco to Arthur and Selina LeClair Thibeault who both predeceased her. She was married to John F. Clark Sr., who predeceased her in October 2001. They lived on the Clark Family Farm, outside Brainardsville, before returning to Chateaugay, where they led a busy and happy life involved in community and church events.
Louella worked as a cook and housekeeper for many years. She was known for her love of cooking and was a judge at the fair. She will be remembered by many for her delicious pies.
Louella was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court St. Helen for 65 years and the Altar and Rosary Society. She volunteered at St. George's Country Patch and with the Knights of Columbus for Bingo and many events. She enjoyed the Burke Adult Center, where she was active on the board.
She is survived by her children, Lorraine Simmons of Peru, Clarence Clark and his wife Jean of Stafford, Va., Diane Clark of Malone, John F. Clark Jr. and his wife Lucia of Oak Hill, Va., Randie Ann Juntunen and her husband Bryan of Merrill; three grandchildren, Crystal Simmons of South Burlington, Vt., Kelsey and Meagan Juntunen of Plattsburgh; and her loving sister, Angela Duval of Plattsburgh. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Thibeault.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at Chateaugay Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at St. Patrick's Church, Chateaugay. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
