Grant offered to full-time educators

PLATTSBURGH — The New York State Retired Teachers Association is offering a $1,000 grant to assist full-time educators in Clinton or Essex county with an innovative program or project that works toward the advancement of education in the state and country. 

The funds may be used for a variety of purposes, such as designing a project to enhance curriculum; working toward a higher degree or national certification; or combatting issues such as bullying. 

In short, any project advancing education.

The applicant must provide a description of the program or project and demonstrate why the grant is needed. To obtain an application, call Marilyn Smith at 561-3167. 

Applications must be returned by May 1.

The winner of the grant will be determined by judges made up of members of the Retired Teachers Association, with notification by the close of school in June.
